'House 9' Quay

'House 9' Quay

This cottars' house was the home of fisherman Angus MacDonald and his second wife Catherine Paterson from about 1880. Angus was drowned during a storm in 1906, and his widow continued to live here with their children, earning a living as a wool spinner. Following Catherine's death, the house passed to their son Kenneth, and later to his nephew Kenneth Angus MacKinnon, who lived in Oban.

This property, now known as Quay Cottage, is referred to as 'house 9' Quay in the croft history of the area.
