This was a cottar's house. The first owner was Norman MacLeod, who had previously lived at neighbouring 'house 3' with his aunt. In 1895 he married and made a new home with his wife Mary Ann and their family. As a widower he moved away, and the house passed to Angus MacKillop, then Angus Shaw. It was later owned by Catherine MacDonald.
