73729: ‘House 1’ Ludag

This was a cottar’s house. Fisherman and shoemaker Alexander MacDonald lived there with his wife Mary. It was passed to his brother William following Alexander’s death in 1862, and subsequently to William’s son Alexander, Ailig Mòr. Following his wife’s death in 1952 the house at Ludag was passed to daughter Catherine.

The property is referred to as ‘house 1’ in the croft history of the area.
