70336: 27 Tolsta Chaolais

This croft was first tenanted by Murdo Macgregor (1770-1820) who was married firstly to Ann Macleod, with whom he had two children.  His second wife was Mary Macdonald and there were three children from this marriage.

The croft passed to Murdo’s son Donald (b1801) who emigrated to Bruce County in 1851 with his wife Catherine and four children.

John Macdonald (1799-1880) from 8 Old Doune Carloway became the next tenant.  The croft passed to John’s son John (b1838), to his son John (b1869) and son Donald Malcolm.
