70289: 7/3 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla)

7/3 Ruisgarry was created by the division of 7 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla) into thirds in 1887, following the death of John MacAskill’s widow Marion.

The name Lag a’ Chealla means ‘hollow of the church or cell’.

7/3 was passed to daughter Catherine, who gave her share to her brother Duncan, who held part 7/2. Therefore, from that stage, the combined 7/2 and 7/3 are again referred to as 7 Ruisgarry.
