7008: 2/4 Kershader

Croft 2/4 Kershader is situated between crofts no 3 and no 4. The croft was created specially for Iain Òg Macleod by detaching each from the crofts on either side of him. His father on croft 4, Domhnuill Mòr Ruadh Macleod and his brother on croft 3, Iain Mor Domhnuill Ruaidh. Hence the reason the croft is known as 2/4 – two quarters.

Iain Òg Macleod, 2/4 Kershader was a merchant and his home was built by a professional stone mason. It was said that it was the first crofters white house in Pairc. It was slated with Ballachulish quarried slate, and is still standing.
