The first tenant of this croft was Angus Maciver who moved to 7 Breaclete, Bernera when Doune was cleared in 1853. When Doune was resettled in 1872, Murdo Macleod from Ardbeg, Uig became the tenant, followed by his son Donald (1855-) and Donald’s daughter Ann. From Ann, the croft passed to her cousin Mrs Jane Macleod, 5a Doune.
