The croft at 8 Ruisgarry (Baile) was obtained by Mary MacAskill, widow of Roderick MacGillivray, in the relotting of Ruisgarry in 1850. On her death it passed to her daughter Jessie and husband Captain Archibald Paterson, then to Jessie's cousin Jessie MacKenzie.
Subsequently it passed to her niece Joan MacKenzie, then her daughter Ann MacKillop.
Cottars also lived on the croft.
