The first tenant of this croft was Archie Macarthur, Hacklete, Bernera. When Doune was cleared in 1853, he moved to 29 Upper Carloway. The next tenant after resettlement was John Macleod, probably from Uig. The croft was later sold to John Macphail, 13 Doune and still remains with the Macphail family.
