55643: 11 Tolsta Chaolais

Alexander Macgregor (1811-1871) was the first tenant of this croft until he moved to 9 Tolsta Chaolais.  It then passed to John Macleod (1791-1873), 24 Tolsta Chaolais.  In 1851, John moved to 14 Tolsta Chaolais and the croft passed to his son Norman (1822-1902).  In the 1860’s, Norman obtained 28 Tolsta Chaolais and John returned to 11 Tolsta Chaolais.

On John’s death, the croft was split between his daughter Effie (1834-1897). 11b Tolsta Chaolais and his daughter-in-law Mary at 11a Tolsta Chaolais.
