Angus Macdonald (1770) was the first tenant of 1 Keose, followed by his son Roderick (1797-1891). Roderick's son John (1826-1906) inherited the croft. He was a policeman in Edinburgh when he married Catherine Finlayson from Applecross. They returned to 1 Keose in 1856.
