5156: 1 Tomair, Balallan

A new building was built in 1954 to replace the old nurse’s cottage used between 1920 and 1954 at the east end of the village.

In the mid 1970s, nurses were allowed to stay in their own homes. Thereafter the house was used by the Health Board to house health personnel who came to the Island for short periods.
