The croft was allocated to Donald Morrison "Domhnall ‘an Alasdair", a gardener at Lews Castle – – and previous occupant of Linshader farm – the croft had the original farmhouse on it. His son-in-law, Donald Macleod from Leurbost, inherited the tenancy and the croft remined in the Macleod family until 1999 when it was sold on.
