The first tenant of this croft was Murdo Campbell (1812-1880) 2 Old Gravir and he passed 40 Gravir to his son, Roderick Campbell (1852-1908). Roderick passed the croft to his son, Finlay Campbell (1892-1976) who lived at 26 Battery Park, Stornoway.
The next tenant of 40 Gravir was John Macaskill (1881-1966) from 17 Gravir and he passed the croft to his son, Angus Macaskill (1906-1969). Angus passed the croft to his eldest daughter.
