21660: Gamekeepers House, Seaforth Head

The first recorded resident of the Gamekeepers House was Alexander Macphail. He was followed by James Mathewson who moved to Hamnavay in Uig in around 1889.

Roderick Mackenzie, married to Jessie Smith of 50 Balallan, lived here before moving to Stornoway.

Farquhar Macrae moved from Eishken in around 1887. He may have been a brother of the next tenant, Duncan Alex Macrae.

Robert Dempster moved from Kenmore to Seaforth Head in around 1946.

The last recorded tenant was Finlay Macinnes from Rhenigidale in Harris,who was a gamekeeper here from May 1952 until he retired in 1972, when he moved to 45 Balallan.
