The first tenant of 16 Old Gravir was Donald Macdonald (1770-1845) and he passed the croft to  Margaret Nicolson (1781-) daughter of Donald, 7 Old Eishken and widow of Donald Mackay, Eishken. Margaret passed the croft to her son, John Mackay (1810-1883).

Norman Matheson (1816-1885) son of Donald, 23 Old Gravir was a cotter on the croft as was Donald Maclean (1811-1877) son of Neil, Lemreway. Both were married to daughters of Donald Mackay.
