12 Habost, Lochs

12 Habost, Lochs

The crofts at 9, 10, 11 and 12 Habost are believed to have been part of Duncan Maclennan's tack (see Habost), and may have been lotted later than the rest of the village.

There was a smithy at 12 Habost, and Fergus Ferguson (Fearghas an Fhearghais), born 1805, was the blacksmith. The ruins of the smithy can be seen close to the sea to the side of the present house.
