11393: 9 Habost, Lochs
The crofts at 9, 10, 11 and 12 Habost are believed to have been part of Duncan Maclennan’s tack (see Habost), and may have been lotted later than the rest of the village.
Alasdair Macdonald (Alasdair Neill) took over his uncle’s shop at 1 Habost and moved it to his own croft at 9 Habost. Buth Alasdair Neill mainly traded as a butcher’s, with a van service which ran for 25 years until 1974, when Alasdair sold it to Angus Mackinnon (Neux) of Caverstay.
