11297: 1 Laxay

The first tenant of 1 Laxay was Murdo Macleod (1786-1888) who came from Swordale, Keose in the mid 1840s. His son John inherited the croft, followed by John’s son Murdo. Murdo’s daughter Mary Bella was residing at 1 Laxay but moved to 38 Laxay when the croft was feud off. Her brother Angus (1905-2000) took over the tenancy of the croft.
