111632: Luskentyre House, Stornoway
Luskentyre House was a slate-roofed building located on the corner of Kenneth Street and Francis Street in central Stornoway, on the site that was subsequently occupied by Martin’s Memorial Church.
Luskentyre House was the birth place of Sir Alexander Mackenzie. A small plaque is found on a wall there, commemorating both Mackenzie himself and connections between Stornoway and Canada.
