105225: Taigh an t-Saighdeir, Pol an Oir
Taigh an t-Saighdeir or the Soldier’s House was built in the early 1850s and was originally the home of soldier’s widow Effie MacAskill, née MacKinnon and her sons. On her death it was passed to son Neil, and then to his son Alexander, and on to niece Kate Goodwin.
It is referred to as ‘house no 61’ in the croft history of the area. Now disused, it has been renamed Davaar Cottage.
