105167: Càrn House, Rhuvanish

This was the home of yachtsman Allan MacKillop and his family between 1908 and 1925, when they moved to Lochportain.

The next owner was Alexander MacLean, who had returned from England to his father’s native island. He married Marion Paterson in 1928. Following Marion’s death in 1975 Càrn House passed to their grandson.

This property is referred to as ‘house no 48’ in the croft history of the area.
