105143: 9 Tolsta Chaolais

This croft was first tenanted by John Macleod (1823-1906) who may have come from Tolsta Chaolais.  He was married to Christina Macdonald (1824-1907) from 17 Leurbost but had originated from Hacklete, Bernera.  In a series of removals in 1865, John Macleod removed to 14 Tolsta Chaolais and the croft passed to Alexander Macgregor (1811-1871), 11 Tolsta Chaolais.  Alexander was married to Ann Macaulay (1811-1891) from 27 Breasclete.

On widow Ann Macgregor’s death, the croft was split between her sons Donald at 9a Tolsta Chaolais and Norman at 9b Tolsta Chaolais.
