104144: 6b Tolsta Chaolais

The first tenant of 6 Tolsta Chaolais was Murdo Macleod (1795-1869) who probably originated from Tolsta Chaolais.  His first wife was Ann Macleod (1800-1895) and his second wife was Flora Smith from Earshader, Bernera.  On widow Flora’s death, the croft was split between her stepson Norman at 6b Tolsta Chaolais and her son Murdo at 6a Tolsta Chaolais. 

Croft 6b Tolsta Chaolais passed to Donald’s daughter Kate Ann and then to Donald’s sister Mrs Dolina Morrison.  Later, the croft passed to Duncan Mackenzie, 22 Tolsta Chaolais.
