104027: Moorside Cottage, North Tolsta

Moorside Cottage was originally a cottars house at 62 North Tolsta. The first occupants were William Campbell and Margaret Maciver; the couple had four children: John, Angus, William and William. In due course Moorside Cottage passed to their youngest son: William.

William Campbell married Margaret Mackay, of 66 North Tolsta, and the couple settled at Moorside Cottage. They had six children: Two boys and four girls. At some point William also inherited 62 North Tolsta but continued to live at Moorside Cottage. In due course 62 North Tolsta passed to their younger son.   

Moorside Cottage was feued off from the 62 North Tolsta and sold, following William Jnr’s death in 2004, aged 98.
