40700: Free English Church, Stornoway

The Free English Church was established in Stornoway in 1875 to provide for English speaking residents and visitors who were adherents of the Free Church. The church was situated at the corner of Francis Street and Kenneth Street, with a church hall added in 1890 and the spire erected in 1911. In 1929, the Free English Church chose to change their name to Martin’s Memorial.
