109837: Free Church College, Edinburgh

The Free Church College in Edinburgh was founded in 1907 by the minority Free Church of Scotland following the merger of the majority of the original Free Church with the United Presbyterian Church to form the United Free Church. The Free Church College provided training for ministers of the minority church at new premises, while members of the United Free Church studied at the original Free Church premises at New College.

The Free Church College is now known as the Edinburgh Theological Seminary.

(The Free Church College is distinct from Edinburgh’s Free Church Training College for teachers, which existed prior to 1907.)
