Marquis of Stafford

The Marquis of Stafford was a ship that carried some 500 emigrants from Lewis to Quebec in the summer of 1851. It was engaged and provisioned by the Chamberlain of Lews, John Munro Mackenzie, acting on behalf of Sir James Matheson. 

The Marquis of Stafford was one of half a dozen vessels that took Lewis families to Canada that year.
