120948: SS City of Perth (133318)

The SS Kandahar was a Cargo Steamship built by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardon, Wallsend in 1913 for Bucknall SS Lines Ltd, Noth Shields. She was sold in 1926 to Ellerman & Bucknall SS Co Ltd, London and renamed SS City of Perth.

On Convoy, on March 23, 1943 the SS City of Perth was torpedoed with the loss of two lives. The ship was towed south of Cape Figalo, Algeria and beached.
