The SS Ganges was a Cargo Steamship built by Bartram & Sons, Sunderland in 1902 for the Mercantile Steamship Co, London.

On passage from Barry to La Spezia, on July 30, 1917, the SS Ganges was torpedoed and sunk with the loss of one life.
