120624: SS Manipur/HMS Indomitable/HMS Sandhurst

The SS Manipur was a Cargo Ship built Harland and Wolff, Belfast in 1905 for T & J Brocklebank, Liverpool. She was requisitioned by the Admiralty in 1915 and used as decoy ship HMS Indomitable. In 1916 she was converted to a Destroyer Repair Ship and served throughout the First World War as HMS Sandhurst.

During the early part of the Second World War HMS Sandhurst was again used as a Repair Ship.
