The SS Rubiera was a Cargo Steamship built by Russel & Co, Port Glasgow in 1917 for the Blue Star Line. She was renamed SS Ionic Star in 1920.
On passage from Rio de Janeiro to Liverpool the SS Ionic Star rand aground and sunk on October 17, 1939 at Formby Beach.
