The HMS Earl of Essex was a Trawler built by Cook, Welton & Gemmell (Beverley UK) in 1914.
She was requisitioned by the Admiralty in June 1940 and returned to her owner in February 1946. The HMS Earl of Essex was mined in the North Sea on April 24, 1946 with the loss of ten crew.
