The SS Port Hardy was a Passenger and Refrigerated Cargo ship built by Hawthorn Leslie & Co Ltd, Hebburn in 1922 for the Commonwealth & Dominion Line Ltd, London.

On passage from Wellington to Avonmouth, on April 28, 1941 the SS Port Hardy was torpedoed and sunk 200 miles south of Iceland. One crew member was lost.
