120040: SS Almeda Star (149751)

The SS Almeda Star was a British Turbine Steamer built by Cammell Laird & Co Ltd, Birkenhead in 1926 for the Blue Star Line. She was both a Passenger Liner and a Refrigerated Cargo ship carrying beef from South America to London.

35 Miles off Rockall the SS Almeda Star was torpedoed and sunk on January 17, 1941.
