The SS War Afridi was a Steel Screw Steam Tanker built by Robert Duncan & Co, Port Glasgow in 1919 for C T Bowring & Co Ltd.

Purchased by the Admiralty in 1921 she was attached to the  Royal Fleet Auxiliary in 1937.
