114119: HMS Conqueror II

HMS Conqueror II was launched on the 20th of February 1889. She was owned by Walter S Bailey of Hull.

In 1891 she was sold to F W Vanderbilt, of New York.

In 1913 she was sold to the Duke of Manchester, London.

On the 1st of February 1915 she was requisitioned by the Admiralty and commissioned as HMS Conqueror II.

On the 26th of September 1916 she and the HMS Alice were looking for an unidentified steamer when they were attached by U-52. She was torpedoed and sank to the northwest of the Fair Isle. The following day the HMS Sylvia picked up 17 of her crew, but 22 lives were lost.
