74658: Roderick Ferguson
Roderick was born in 1843, the son of Roderick Ferguson and Marion MacKillop of old Ruisgarry, and later Borgh Mhor, Harris. In 1854 the family returned to croft on 10 Ruisgarry (Gunhill).
Roderick initially worked as a fisherman, later becoming a crofter/farmer. He married Mary Paterson in 1869 , with whom he was to have nine children. Following his father’s death in 1885, Roderick was passed 10 Ruisgarry. When the family moved to 16 Borve, which he obtained in 1900, 10 Ruisgarry was passed to his brother-in-law James MacAskill.
