71867: Alexander Humphrey

Alexander Humphrey who came from Elgin, was the first tacksman of Doune Farm, Carloway from 1833 to 1853. He was married to Isabella and had eight children: Janet (b1844), Barbara (b1846), Ann (b1849), William (b1850), Donald (b1852), Catherine (b1855), Margaret (b1856) and John (b1859).

When Doune was cleared in 1853, Alexander moved to Swainbost Farm in Ness.
