Sophie Macdonald (1811-1885) was a daughter of Malcolm Macdonald and Christina Mackenzie, Steimreway and Old Lemreway. She may have lived at 9 Habost with her brother, James.
She was living in Laxay, in 1853, when she married Neil Mackenzie, 46 Balallan. Sophie and Neil settled at 63 Balallan and later moved to 1 Balallan. They had no children.
Sophie’s brother, James married Neil’s sister, Isabella.
She was widowed in 1876 and in 1881 was living with her neice, Mrs Ann Morrison and family at 1 Balallan.
